The Apple Watch Will Bring Glucose Tracking to Your Wrist

With help from DexCom, a company that makes monitors for diabetics, the Apple Watch will be one of the first wearables to bring glucose tracking to your wrist. The Apple Watch itself will only act as a display for the information being pumped out every five minutes by DexCom's continuous glucose monitor or CGM, a hair-thin sensor embedded under the skin.

As a diabetic since 10 years, this is a dream for me !!....I believe some one will do it in the 5 next years, before 2020 we'll have a very trusted smart glucowatch working with IR. At least I hope so

Apple isn't "adding" features. This is just an already existing iPhone app (which works as an interface for a Bluetooth-enabled heath device) that is being updated to get Apple Watch support. This is how *all* Apple Watch apps will work. So this is neat, but not unique.
