Microsoft to showcase a 'phone-laptop hybrid' at its Windows 10

Microsoft will make presenting its new Windows 10 platform a whole-day event tomorrow, and will speak how it shares a common kernel, and will scale up for any device - from 5" smartphones, to tablets, laptops and perhaps even TVs - so that developers can write one app that will work across the whole information and entertainment ecosystem.

With the advancements in mobile screens and processors, such a device can now be made extremely thin and light, so we can't wait to see what Microsoft has in store for us tomorrow, both on the software, and on the hardware side of things.

If they want to appeal to users then they should offer a free upgrade to a full version of Windows 10. They should do this at least for 8 and 8.1 users.

I don’t get where your going with the UI wish. The look and feel is available now in the developer preview. So to say that it is different from Win8 is a huge yes. If you don’t like the new direction of what Win 10 looks like who knows what you are looking for. Good luck in that hunt.

If it were not for the WP UI I would be very interested in this. I make my Windows 8 look like Windows 7 because it makes more sense to me on a non-touchscreen device. Even though this will be a touch screen device the fact that it has a keyboard and hopefully some type of mouse make me want the Windows 7 interface here too. That way I can use it like a PC.
